2026 AMA US Sprint Enduro Season Opens with Southland Sprint at New Venue

January 28, 2026
The 2026 AMA US Sprint Enduro season begins January 31–February 1 with Round 1, the Southland
Sprint, hosted at Climax Motorsports Park in Climax, Georgia — marking the first time the series has
competed at this venue.
Known primarily as a motocross facility, Climax Motorsports Park will offer a unique and purpose
built Sprint Enduro experience. For this event, the course design blends motocross-style flow with
grass track elements and newly constructed woodland sections, creating a dynamic mix of terrain
that caters to both moto and woods riders.
The sandy soil and fast, flowing layout are designed to reward momentum and precision, while the
purpose-built woods add technical variety without overwhelming the pace of the event. Riders will
compete in both a Cross Test and an Enduro Test, highlighting the Sprint Enduro format and its
ability to bridge the gap between motocross and off-road competition.
As the opening round of the season, the Southland Sprint is intended to be fast, fun, and rider
friendly — an ideal way to get competitors warmed up and settled into championship mode. With
two days of racing and cumulative scoring, Round 1 will begin shaping early momentum in the 2026
title chase.
Round 1 also marks the beginning of several key Pro 1 championship storylines.
Reigning 2025 Pro 1
Champion Liam Draper of AM Pro Yamaha returns to defend his title as the season opens at a new
venue.
Former two-time US Sprint Enduro Champion Johnny Girroir returns to Sprint Enduro competition
aboard FMF Factory KTM Racing, bringing experience and proven results back into the Pro 1 class.
Cody Barnes, representing Liqui Moly Beta Racing, finished second overall in the Pro 1
championship last season and enters the 2026 season on a new team and a new platform aboard
the Beta 480, introducing a new dynamic to the Pro 1 field as the season opens.
Joining the Pro 1 field is Grant Davis of FMF KTM Factory Racing – Landers, who steps up to the
premier class after capturing the 2025 Pro 2 Championship, beginning his first full season
competing in Pro 1.
With multiple championship-caliber riders converging at a new venue, the Southland Sprint will
provide an early look at how the Pro 1 title picture may begin to take shape as the 2026 season gets
underway.
The US Sprint Enduro crew looks forward to seeing everyone this weekend to kick off 2026!
