6-DAYS IN SPAIN
Finally! I am beyond excited to be able to attend my first ISDE!
When I first became aware of what the ISDE was I was pretty intrigued and impressed by the sheer commitment the racers would have to endure. A true TEAM EVENT but not for one short race – 6-DAYS but not just 6-DAYS more like 2-WEEKS on location but not just 2-WEEKS since there are camps and training involved back home. There is so much preparation to consider. Not just the race but all that goes into it. The expense, time and support needed – it’s really something.
If you race dirt bikes, you know it’s pretty much an individual sport. It’s you and your machine against all others. You may have supporters but ultimately you are responsible for yourself.
At ISDE you are still responsible for yourself however you are part of a TEAM a much bigger picture and you’re here to represent your Country. That guy you have been racing all year – you know the one that you may have been chasing or maybe that guy who you have been trying to stay in front of all year is now on your TEAM. You have to work with him now – help him because working together and putting your talents together will make your TEAM solid and strong.
What you learn in this sport goes far deeper than your riding abilities. It shapes you and builds you into a confident and sure-footed individual. When you are confident in yourself you can put petty differences aside and share what you’ve learned because you know no person can strip that from you. You are strong and your focus is unwavering. This is what you were born to do in this time, and this is what will carry you to your future successes in your life.
This sport teaches us so much about ourselves and life. It’s special events like this that push us to our limits, and we must take what we have learned and not go over the edge, not just for ourselves and our glory but for our TEAM and Country.
Being here and looking at all the believers – the supporters it really does take a Village and this Village – TEAM USA is STRONG and ABLE!
The stage is set, and I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds.
Our racers, mechanics and volunteers all know their rolls and they want nothing more than to help the TEAM bring home GOLD 🏆
